Why Used Ink? "Answers About Buying Used Ink Cartridges"
|
Why Used Ink?
Price, Convenience & the Earth
The market for OEM Ink is a scam. HP, Epson, Cannon, Dell and the rest of them
are more than happy to give the printers away. They want you to buy their ink. It
makes good business sense, if you use their machine for a few years, they have a
constant stream of ink revenue every few months.
They warn you that the sky will fall and your printer will be ruined if you don’t buy
ink from them. Bull.
I have been shopping for used ink cartridges for years. I used web sites for a
while, now, I can go to a franchised ink shop right down the street from my home.
They will sell you a used cartridge or refill yours right at the shop.
Price
A new HP 45, my ink cartridge lists for 35.99. You can get it on Amazon new for
$24 - $30 plus shipping.
Same cartridge is $10 refilled at my neighborhood ink store. For a few buck more
you can get it online, delivered to your home or business.
Convenience
In a store, online or at work, these guys sell service and convenience. You don’t
need to play with funnels, drills, stoppers or bottles of ink to save money on ink
cartridges. You just need to visit one of the stores or check out and online ink e-
tailer.
Environment
The less plastic ink cartridges filled with chemically produced inks, the better the
world is for everyone. Ask the Ink seller you chose if they can recycle your old
cartridges after they are too old to refill anymore.
